Cake Lingerie was awarded with the prestigious title of 'Maternity Brand of the Year' at the inaugural UK Lingerie Awards in September, 2011.
The awards recognise top achieving brands around the world throughout the year.
Attended by more than 250 lingerie professionals and well respected industry heads, the event, held at One Mayfair, London had 20 categories of awards, highlighting areas of lingerie from mens, womens and retailers to name a few.
Cake Lingerie took out the top position in the maternity category, taking home a gold 'oscar' reminiscent trophy, and the triumphant title of 'Maternity Brand of the Year'.
The winners were chosen by an independent panel of 7 well known industry specialists, including Rigby & Peller founder and Queen's corsetiere June Kenton, Debenhams' lingerie head of design and buying Sharon Webb, De Montfort University course leader Gillian Proctor, The Lingerie Collective founder Kelly Isaac, Intimate Apparel Consultancy founder Claire Franks, celebrity lingerie designer Nichole de Carle and Lingerie Insight editor Kat Slowe.
"It takes an exceptional level of talent, creativity, business expertise and hard work to rise to the top of any industry. The winners of the UK Lingerie Awards have demonstrated all these attributes, and more, over the past 12 months," said Kat Slowe, editor of Lingerie Insight, which hosted the Awards.
"There has never been an awards ceremony of this scale and ambition in the UK. We wanted to put that right because competition for awards can drive innovation and provide benchmarks for everybody to strive for," Ms. Slowe continued.
